It had been living in the shed and belonged to Bill’s estate – the former farmerOur first big meeting in Unit 11 as part of the share issue campaign – Jan 20. We raised £40,000The flooding from Storm Ciara in Feb 20 was a warning of what we have to be prepared forSocial distancing caused a problem, but a rota of volunteers started to breath life into the Farm…Seeds got planted…beds got builtand then the crops started to comeAlongside the growing , July saw path making in the Home Office field to allow a school holiday project to use itIn September we trialled selling veg boxesand the Scarecrow Trail showed how we could involve familiesWe went on to prepare the land …..and plan a compound.We dismantled some polytunnels that were available at another site that was closing down ….. and started putting some up!We’ve planted trees …… sowed seeds …… and lots of people have helped us plant peas!
